Now that I’ve been granted Permanent Residency, I no longer need to make regular visits to Immigration. Therefore I won’t be following updates or posting about any changes that are made to the Spouse Visa or PR/Permit Masuk processes.
Much has changed over the past 10 years or so, in particular foreign spouses now have access to more resources on social media plus the PR Guidelines released by Immigration in September 2025.
If you are considering applying for PR, I would recommend the following:
- Download and read the PR Guidelines so that you understand the requirements,
- Learn and practice Bahasa Melayu, as a basic understanding is required,
- Check the old Points System, as the criteria may still be relevant to new applications,
- Visit the ‘Useful Links’ for more information plus any updates to the processes.
